麻花视频 County police have seized a Honda Accord that may have struck a man who was found dead last week along the 麻花视频 River.
On the afternoon of July 7, police responded to a report of an unresponsive man at the bottom of an embankment on the 5800 block of Peaceful Drive, which runs parallel to the river in the Glenvar area.
Garon Bowles, 42, of Franklin County, was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, according to a news release from police.
An autopsy determined that he died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen, and authorities believe he was struck by a car.
About an hour before Bowles was found at 5:45 p.m., police were called to a disturbance that occurred approximately 50 yards away, according to a search warrant filed July 8 in 麻花视频 County Circuit Court.
Upon arrival, police were told by several people that an unidentified man had used a metal pipe to strike a black Honda Accord. Police observed damage to the right front fender of the car.
Authorities searched the stretch of Peaceful Drive where Bowles is believed to have been struck. Investigators found a metal pipe, a pair of Bowles鈥 shoes, a fender liner and another car part with identification numbers indicating that they can be used on a Honda Accord.
Given the circumstances, 鈥渋t is believed that this car could have struck the victim and caused his injuries,鈥 the warrant states.
The Honda was later seized from a 麻花视频 home on McDowell Avenue Northwest. During the seizure, according to the warrant, a witness told police that the car was being driven by a 17-year-old boy at the time of the incident.
The search warrant, which was obtained to investigate a hit-and-run offense, states that police intend to examine the car鈥檚 airbag control module.
No one has been charged; the investigation continues.
