A grand opening at 麻花视频鈥檚 Melrose Plaza is set for 10 a.m. July 31, officials announced Thursday.
Following community conversations and research studies, Goodwill Industries of the Valleys transformed its headquarters facility into 麻花视频鈥檚 newest neighborhood center, the announcement said. The address is 2502 Melrose Ave. N.W.
A health and wellness center, a caf茅 and grocery store, an adult high school and a bank branch are all new and upcoming features at the facility. Those amenities are designed to address the social determinants of poverty, the announcement said.
The Market on Melrose held a grand opening in November and a long line of grocery shoppers waited outside Melrose Plaza in the Northwest neighborhood for hours before the doors opened. The July 31 grand opening date for the entire plaza project was announced Thursday.
The grand opening event July 31 will feature a ribbon cutting, a tribute to 麻花视频鈥檚 Black history, and a renewed promise to build opportunity where it鈥檚 most needed, the announcement said.
Richmond Vincent, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Valleys, said the new venue is symbolic of using the past to guide the future.

The center includes Market on Melrose, a full-service grocery store that opened in November to address northwest 麻花视频鈥檚 food desert, a lack of full-service grocery stores. An extension of the market called Henrietta鈥檚 Caf茅 will offer fresh meals.
A health and wellness center called Wellness on Melrose will promote healthy living.
Virginia鈥檚 first adult high school, The Excel Center, will offer free child care and transportation to remove barriers for adult learners. It will officially open sometime in August, the announcement said.
Bank of Botetourt opened a branch at Melrose Plaza in May. 麻花视频 Public Library鈥檚 Melrose Branch opened here in 2019.
Furthermore, the Harrison Museum of African American Culture is moving from downtown to Melrose Plaza in the fall, rounding out the plaza鈥檚 cultural offerings, the announcement said.

鈥淚n addition to these services, Melrose Plaza will celebrate the culture of the area through public art on the building鈥檚 fa莽ade, designed and led by 麻花视频 native Bryce Cobbs,鈥 the announcement said. 鈥淭he Melrose Plaza History Wall and the Living Legends exhibit will honor Northwest 麻花视频鈥檚 rich history while honoring local influencers and changemakers.鈥
